UpperHills is a top-class urban complex composed of multi-shopping space, high-end business apartments, LOFT, R&D Buildings, MUJI HOTEL SHENZHEN and the international luxury hotel, namely the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The project has a total investment of approx. CNY20 billion, a site area of approx. 121,200 ㎡, an average plot ratio of 6.5 and a total Gross Floor Area of approx. 1.2 million ㎡.
The UpperHills is located in the area enclosed by Caitian Road, Sungang West Road and Huanggang Road at one of the key areas in Shenzhen City. Overlooking its surroundings, the complex connects horizontally to Lotus Hill Park, Beacon Hill Park and Shenzhen Central Park and longitudinally to the city’s north-south axis on which the city’s political and commercial landmarks are situated. It borders the political and commercial central area to the South, adjoins Meilin Business Area and Shenzhen North Business Area to the North, and connects Luohu Business Area to the East and Nanshan High-tech Industrial Park and Qianhai Free Trade Zone to the west.
UpperHills enjoys a convenient transportation network consisting of intercity high-speed rail, high speed rail (Futian Transport Hub), urban expressways, sub-highways, Huanggang Port, Airport Express and metro. There are two east-west roads (Caitian Road and Huanggang Road) and three north-west roads (Beihuan Avenue, Sungang Road and Hongli Road) that run through the project area. In addition, the metro line 10 currently under construction will seamlessly connect the commerce area (B2 floor) of the project to the urban metro network.
Meanwhile, surrounded by Lotus Hill Park, Beacon Hill Park and Shenzhen Central Park, UpperHills enjoys the 4,700-acre green lung environment of Shenzhen. By investing approx. RMB 150 million, UpperHills will build two pedestrian overpass, measuring 600 meters in total length, to link it to Lotus Hill to the west and Beacon Hill to the east. This will become an exemplary model of integrating urban public spaces and green area to achieve the harmonious unity of architecture, man and nature.
To introduce the idea of “Upper Living” into people’s life, UpperHills is now establishing a central urban complex that exists in harmony with nature. The project will fully exemplify our pursuit of green development, low-carbon emission, eco-friendliness and human-oriented environment. By “Upper”, we mean an uplifting momentum, an extremely comfortable life supported by an exhaustive array of public services and facilities that cater to every aspect of one’s daily needs yet without altering the original spatial arrangements, and a brand new living experience realized by implementing the elevated pursuit for a better future that fully optimizes the spatial development of a city without compromising the ecology. “Upper Living” is the spot of tranquillity among the bustle city center for you to lay back and enjoy the tranquillity in the embrace of the two hills.
The name and logo of UpperHills are the works of renowned Hong Kong designer Stanley Wong. The logo features a simplistic combination of lines and planes, the most fundamental elements in architecture. The lines of different thickness symbolize UpperHills’ paths of different width as well as the letter U and H – initials of UpperHills. The four sections, together consisting the gestalt of the logo, represents the four unique yet integral business forms that harmoniously make up the urban complex, namely the high-end business apartments, R&D Buildings, LOFT and commerce.
The logo’s major composition – wood grain and coffee colour –symbolizes that the premises, surrounded by two hills and three parks, enjoys unparalleled natural scenes and resources, echoing the eco-friendliness of the project. The logo representing high-end apartments is green, which symbolizes the healthy life an owner will lead by settling in the arm of the two urban green lungs, namely Lotus Hill and Beacon Hill. The blue logo for the two R&D buildings over 300 meters tall represents human’s longing to reach the sky while retaining their respect. The sophisticated rose logo for retail is an elegant announcement of taste and subtle expression of gorgeousness; the roses of varied tone blends into a harmonious spectrum, just like how luxury stores of the best taste are arranged in UpperHills to provide you with the most luxurious shopping experience. We picked orange for the logo of the Town, which resonates with the bright and lively street block styled layout of the premises, where one can always expect more wonder hidden in every seemingly plain store around the next corner.
